GCSE Exam Tv Drama

Learning Objective: To Explain The Format And Structure Of The Exam!

  • Exam is 1 hour and 30 minutes 
  • The exam is in the mock week in February
  • I will get marked for linking my ideas
  • All questions are worth 50 marks 
  • Spend up to 20 minutes on each question 
  • Topic will stay as 'Tv Drama'  
  • The Pre-Release is just hinting at the questions that will be in the mock
  • Not aloud to take any thing to do with revision into the mock
  • The 4 Questions Are:
  • 1. Research based questions (To show what we know about Tv Dramas)
  • 2. The next 3 are usually based on making a new Tv Drama and will write about what Tv Dramas we have done 
  • They also ask us to make a new Tv Drama based on a target audience they set us.
  • What characters will be in the Tv drama?
  • Do A Poster, A Front Magazine Page And A 10 Box Story Board.
  • Sometimes the order will change or might be split into 2 different parts

  • Question 1: Case Studies
  • You Must Choose 2 Different Tv Dramas (Must Be Available In The U.k.) 
  • You Need To Talk Equally About Both Tv Dramas 
  • You Must Cover In Bullet Points 
  • You Need To Use Correct Terminology e.g. Hero aka protagonist 
  • You Must Give Specific Examples From Both Tv Dramas 

  • Question 2: Your Pitch
  • You Must Have A Clear Storyline, Main Character Profiles, Set Designer, Broadcast Day And Time 
  • You Must Be Able To Link It To The A Family Audience 
  • You Must Be Able To Explain It Clearly And The Appeal To Different Sections Of The TA
  • You Need To Use The Right Style For A Pitch

  • Summary On Main Plot-Lines: Its about a police officer who get knocked out and wakes up in a different year and has a angel who helps him to wake up.
  • Main Characters: Sam Tyler, Chris Skelton and Philip Glenister
  • Target Audience: Young And Older Parents And Adults 

  • Tv Drama 2: Sherlock
  • Production Company: Hartswood Films, WGBH-TV and BBC Cymru Wales
  • Channel First Broadcasted on: BBC One 
  • Day And Time: 8:30 And On Everyday Of The Week During the Series 
  • Sub-Genre: Detective, Crime Drama And Also Modern 
  • Where Is It Set: It Is Set In London In The 21St Century   
  • Summary On Main Plot-Lines: Its about a famous detective called "Sherlock Holmes" who finds himself playing mid games with his enemy called "Jim Moriarty".
